About this course
Welcome to the Playful AI Explorations Course!
This is an experiential "learn AI by making things" course where students use Scratch for AI as the programming environment to explore progressively more sophisticated AI capabilities—rather than learning AI primarily through theory.
Students will:
- Explore fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Build AI-powered projects using Scratch for AI
- Experiment with vision-based AI
- Understand how AI systems learn from data and recognize patterns
- Develop computational thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills
- Design and build an original AI projects
Prerequisite: Basic familiarity with Scratch is recommended.
The course supports the AI4K12 Five Big Ideas in AI, particularly AI perception, machine learning, and natural interaction, while developing computational thinking, programming, problem-solving, and creative design through the CSTA K–12 Computer Science Standards and ISTE Standards for Students.
